About Locked Pages
A page is locked when another editor has it open for editing. This means no other editor can then start editing the same page. Locking prevents the changes Editor A made from being erased by Editor B, and vice versa.
When a page is locked, the Unlock button appears in the Updates Anytime button bar. Also, the Edit button is disabled. A LOCKED message also appears, telling you who has the page open for editing and how long ago they made their last change.
If you want to edit a locked page, you must either unlock it or ask the other editor to save his or her changes.
Unlocking the Page
To unlock the page, first contact the editor who has it locked for editing. If they are still working on the page, coordinate your efforts. If the page has remained locked for a long time, and the editor clearly is not still working on it, just click the Unlock button.
Pages can remain locked if an editor should close the browser while editing. Please make sure you either save your changes as a draft or exit from the edit view to keep the page unlocked for other editors.
