About Draft View
In Draft View, you see what your content will look like when it goes live. Only the content shows: not the banner, navigation or other common parts of your pages. The draft window is surrounded by a dashed line.
The purpose of the draft view is to let you see the changes again before they go live, just in case some error has slipped past you. It's a good idea to read through the change again before clicking the Go Live button.
What You Can Do In Draft View
Draft view has buttons for editing the draft, deleting the draft, exiting back to the normal page, signing out, help, and going live.
Editing the Draft
Clicking the Edit Draft button opens the draft in an edit window for further changes. You can go through as many cycles of saving and editing the draft as you like without affecting the live page contents. Many people save their drafts often in case their computers freeze up or their Internet connection goes down. This way, they lose only small amounts of work if something bad happens.
Deleting the Draft
You can delete the draft entirely by clicking the Delete Draft button. Normally you don't need to delete a draft. Having it does not affect the live page content. If several people work on the web site content, it may be a good idea to keep new drafts only for as long as you need them to get approvals.
Exiting from Draft View
If you want to keep the draft for later review by you or someone else, simply click the Exit button. This takes you back to the normal page, without going live with the new draft. You'll see that the Review Draft button is now activated. Clicking it brings you to the draft view again.
Going Live
Your draft becomes the live page content when you click the Go Live button. At the same time, the old live page content becomes the Previous Version you see if you click the Restore button. (Restore is available to Admins only.)
